How to join W&PBKA
Please Note: All memberships expire on 30th September each year.
We have now transitioned to an online membership application system, replacing the previous paper-based process. Memberships are managed through the British Beekeepers eR2 system – a secure, cloud-based platform used by associations to store member information safely.
Before your application can be processed, we will need some basic details from you.
Once you provide this information, your details will be entered into the system and you will receive a link to review your record. You can check your information, make any amendments if necessary, and then click ‘Submit’ to complete your application.
Types of Membership
You will have the option to choose which membership you require:
Bee Disease Insurance – Included with Your Membership!
Your membership automatically includes Bee Disease Insurance (BDI) for up to 3 colonies under the national Bee Disease Insurance Scheme.
If you keep more than three colonies, you can purchase additional cover when completing your online application via the eR2 link. Simply select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu.
Additional BDI Options:
- 1–2 additional colonies: £1.20
- 3–7 additional colonies: £4.70
- 8–12 additional colonies: £7.75
- 13–17 additional colonies: £9.50
- 18–22 additional colonies: £11.10
- 23–27 additional colonies: £13.60
- 28–32 additional colonies: £16.10
- 33–36 additional colonies: £18.10
This ensures all your colonies are fully protected under the Bee Disease Insurance Scheme.
You will then receive an email containing the association’s bank details so that you can make your payment by bank transfer.
We strongly encourage payment by bank transfer, as banks no longer provide free banking for clubs. Last year, over £30 in charges were incurred from processing cheques, so avoiding them helps us keep membership costs down.
Please note that although the online form provides suggested “Yes” or “No” answers, it is entirely your choice which option you select.
