Exciting progress is underway at the Wakefield & Pontefract Beekeepers Association Apiary as work begins on our long-planned patio and seating area. This new addition will provide a welcoming space for members, visitors, and beginner course participants to gather, observe the hives, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the apiary.
The patio project marks the next stage in developing the site, following two years of steady growth since we moved in. Once complete, the area will offer comfortable outdoor seating, a meeting point for training sessions, and a space for quiet reflection – ideal for watching the bees at work or enjoying a well-earned cup of tea after inspections!
We’re incredibly grateful to the small team of volunteers who have rolled up their sleeves to make this happen. Their hard work continues to shape the apiary into a truly special place for learning, community, and conservation.
