Honey Sales – A Sweet Success for 2025

Honey Sales – A Sweet Success for 2025

This season has once again seen strong honey sales across a range of outlets and events, helping to promote local beekeeping and support association funds. Honey was sold at both the World Bee Day event and the Emley Show, where it continued to command premium prices, reflecting the quality of our members’ produce and the growing public appreciation for locally produced honey.

In addition to these events, I have continued to supply CHAT’s throughout the season, while The Brig also sold honey on our behalf. Sales were further boosted by purchases from Council staff working in Thornes Park and members of the public who contacted us via the website and other channels.

According to our records, total honey sales amounted to £1,892.25, with expenses of £167.80 for jars and tamper seals. This leaves a surplus of £1,724.45 for the association—a fantastic achievement that reflects the hard work of everyone involved in producing, preparing, and selling our honey.

We have also made donations of honey to other groups associated with the Thornes Park site, and to Bidfood, in appreciation for their continued support and the provision of sugar for our bees.

Once again, these efforts demonstrate the strength of our community connections and the value of collaboration in sustaining both our bees and our association.
